If you are looking for an experience, something where each piece of sensory input combines into a cohesive whole, and if you want this using only a TV and some headphones, Rez is all you need.

Ostensibly, it's a rail shooter, a genre that is rarer is these days of refined control than it used to be. But it's not really that. The Tron visuals and the excellent Techno soundtrack are the beginning of the flowering of Rez. What really sets it beyond, though, is the way your every action adds to the Tron visuals and excellent techno soundtrack. You shoot things in rhythm. And every time you release, there is a dazzling lightshow and a drumbeat, or a note, or something else that speaks to you and propels you further into the universe of the game.
