These are tricky, but very necessary higher in the game (hard & expert) on certain songs. You can only hammer on or pull off to notes without a black ring inside the colored circle. If they have a black ring inside, they *must* be strummed.

The best hints are to look ahead the scrolling bar of bars and look at what you are about to play. Also use the wammy bar when ever possible. You will get extra bonus points and possibly longer note streaks.

if your playing on hard or expert heres an easy way to hit the orange button with out having to move your hand.

all you need to do is choose a hard song and pause it then tape down the green fret button so green will always be active . (note it doesnt work with any other buttons , only with the green)

if you dont believe me pay aattention to all the loading screens 1 will say you dont need to realease low fret buttons when you play higher notes. i dont know if it says it on GH1 but it does on GH2.
