Amazingly fun game, rather deep gameplay

The original Grandia was a terrific game. In some points better than Final Fantasy, and was for all that don't beleive that a PS1 RPG needed to have Cloud Stryfe in it.
Grandia II, isn't really connected to the first game. It does feel like a different experience entirely, on a completely different level. Though not as revolutionary as Grandia I was, II is extremely satisfying and enjoyable. You can purchase abilities, and the entire stat/combat system has a great deal of depth that you honestly, aren't expecting from the game's outset.
The dialogue is amazing. Ryoudo is honestly funny sometimes, and the characters are always bickering with one another. Early in the game, you find out that there is an 'evil' side to one of the characters. So when Ryoudo isn't bickering with her, her evil side comes around, and you bicker with her then.
You'll often work with 'the devil', someone of complete evil and destruction. And good lord, is this little demon-girl a fun little romp. I didn't find the game very difficult, having just the right challenge for the veteran gamer to walk through. The dialogue is honestly smart, and enjoyable. The ending is rather long, explains a lot about all characters. And it's not the classic 'boy meets girl, they fall in love' routine either. I won't spoil the ending, but it's different.
I'd get this game. I have it on PC, and that version is just as good. I've played through the PS2 version, the PC version has slightly enhanced graphics (The 3D is a touch better, nothing to write home about).
This is no, say, epic tail of the realm of Final Fantasy, but if you want something that is truely enjoyable, and may end up being a touch heartfelt; something a little different and unique, pick this game up. You won't be dissapointed.
