Game Description

Baseball Live 2005 features all the gameplay systems from the Necchu! series, updated for 2005 with all the stats and data to reflect the big-time dealings that went down following the end of last season, including cross-league play. Presentation has been improved for the new version, with added player animation routines and Dolby Pro Logic II support. Namco is once again teaming up with Fuji Television to give the game the look of a real baseball broadcast. Necchu! featured five main modes of play. For Baseball Live 2005, Namco has upped the mode count to an amazing eleven: Pennant, Open, Highlight, Training, Asunard, Dream League, Time Slip, Dendou, Arrange, Tournament, and Necchu! Gekijou.

Features

  • Pennant: Being brought over from Necchu!, this mode has you take part in a pennant race.
  • Open: Also from Necchu!, this is just a quick exhibition mode of play where you can set the number of innings, turn errors on and off, and use the original teams and players that you've created in the other modes.
  • Highlight: View the highlights from your game as they'd be shown in a television highlight reel. You can save your data for future viewing. This mode was featured in Necchu!.
  • Training: Gain familiarity with all the gameplay systems and controls. This mode was also in Necchu!.
  • Asunard: The Asunard mode, first featured in Necchu!, has you raise an original player, working through missions to earn points which can be used to build the player's stats.
  • Dream League: A new mode of play, this mode lets you edit teams and players for play as a single team in a new league. You also have to manage your team and build up your players. The season takes place over sixty games.
  • Time Slip: This new mode of play lets you play as legendary players from Japanese baseball history.
  • Dendou: This new mode stores records that you make as you play the other modes.
  • Arrange: In this new mode, you create your very own player, selecting shape, form and team. You can store up to 88 players.
  • Tournament: A tournament featuring 12 teams fighting it out for top rank. This mode is new.
  • Necchu! Gekijou: This new mode is actually an advanced version of the Necchu! series "Jinsei" (life) mode. You select a single player and live as that player from the start of his career until retirement. You can skip over areas of the game where your player doesn't play.
