They tried, but it's pretty bad

Well, the first Wii Hockey game is here and it actually does use the Wii controller... but it's brutal. Says ages 3 and up, but adults won't be able to play without reading the instructions first. It's 4 on 4 hockey, which isn't horrible, but don't expect NHL quality here. I will give them credit, they do use the Wii controller. The shooting is poking towards the screen for a wrister and pointing the wiremote straight down and then bringing it directly forward (or it doesn't work) for a slapshot. It's pretty hard to play any sort of defense, the AI will have players standing around ignoring the puck, and there are virtually no extras other than some basic minigames. Four-year-old review wasn't impressed and he wanted to play Mario Galaxies pretty immediately.
Wow, this is bad

It says four and up, but I don't know how any kid could pick this game up and play it without the parents explaining the clumbsy controls. The game itself is very simply and poorly programmed. A value title in every negative sense of the word. Steer clear of this and wait for a real hockey game to come out on Wii.
