Well, I don't have my own copy but I play at my friends house every day. The first thing I wanna talk about for this game is the graphics. For those of you who have played halo before Imagine the graphics 10x's better. The shadowing and detail is great.

Every weapon from the dual shotguns to the flamethrowers is great detail. The sword has ammo so you cant just go around killing with a sword all day. Also, the sword is a bit less powerful so it's not ALWAYS an instant kill. I'd say a really strong weapon is the gravity hammer. Well, that's about all I have to say so far.

Bioshock is a better game than Halo 3

Regardless of how you felt about its cliffhanger ending, there's no denying that Halo 2 was a gigantic success that raised the bar for what we, as a game-playing society, expect out of a good console-based first-person shooter. In the years that followed, plenty of games attempted to duplicate the Halo formula, with varying degrees of success. But there's still nothing quite like the genuine item. Luckily for all involved, Halo 3 is a positively amazing package that offers extreme satisfaction across all of its different parts. Maybe now you can finally retire your Halo 2 disc and really move into the next generation of games.

Halo 3 is an interesting mix of established protocol and intriguing new stuff. For example, the gameplay doesn't stray too far from Halo 2, which, in turn, didn't exactly reinvent the original Halo. Don't take that as a negative, because it means that Halo 3 plays extremely well, with the same types of light tactical considerations that have made the series stand apart from other, faster-paced shooters. The balance between your guns, your grenades, and your melee attack has always given Halo a unique feel in the genre, and those same considerations apply today, both in the campaign mode and in multiplayer. You'll also have new weapons and items to consider, such as a host of Brute weapons. One example is the spiker, which is an exciting automatic pistol that fires quickly and decimates opponents, especially if you're holding a pair of them. Another is the mauler, which is a one-handed shotgun that can level enemies up close. You'll even find weapons so huge that your movement speed slows when you carry them. When you use these weapons, the camera pulls out to a third-person perspective so you can see your missile pod, plasma cannon, or flamethrower as it fires. And then there's the gravity hammer. Originally shown in Halo 2 (where it wasn't usable by the player), the gravity hammer is a large melee weapon that will wipe out most regular enemies in one swipe. Needless to say, it can be especially fun in multiplayer settings. The end result is gameplay that feels wholly familiar without retreading the same ground too heavily.

The campaign is structured in much the same way as past Halo games, with multiple chapters and effective streaming that ensures you'll see load times only between chapters. There are also lengthy vehicle sequences to break up the on-foot action. You'll pilot the classic Halo vehicles, such as the Ghost, a hovering one-person craft that's fast and deadly, and the Warthog, a dune buggy with a turret mounted in the back. You'll also see new vehicles, such as the Brute Prowler, which is a two-person vehicle with turrets. Like in previous games, the vehicles are fun to use. Also similar to previous games, the artificial intelligence can't drive very well, so if you're playing alone, you'll usually want to grab the steering wheel rather than the weapons.

The concept of "equipment" is new to the series

The epic saga continues with Halo 3, the hugely anticipated third chapter in the highly successful and critically acclaimed Halo franchise. Master Chief returns to finish the fight, bringing the epic conflict between the Covenant, the Flood, and the entire human race to a dramatic, pulse-pounding climax.

Taking full advantage of the power of Xbox 360, Halo 3 expands on everything that has made the Halo franchise great, adding a wealth of graphical, technical and gameplay advancements, as well as offering a whole new level of online gameplay.

I just felt that it should have been longer, but I guess I did play it non-stop. Anyways I can not wait for Halo Wars, Halo The Movie, or HOPEFULLY another game that has master cheif in it.

In my opinion, I think Halo 3 is overrated. I mean, the game is good, but I don't think it's a game that should be making $300 million the on the first weeks release. They definately improved it from Halo 2 (no superjumps, double shots, bxr, etc.). I think Gears of War is better than Halo 3. The only reason I got Halo is because everyone else was going to have it and I wanted to get the achievements in it.

I don't consider myself a huge Halo fan, but I really like H3. The Multiplayer is what makes it so good.

What's funner than playing with your friends on a map that you edited, owning your friends and sending them a video of the whole thing? Nothing. Bungie knows what turns players on, and they changed the game to satisfy the gloating needs of people.

I just plain love the game, and I hope that, even though they said there wouldn't be, Bungie makes another FPS sequel to the franchise.

this game is one of the best games for the 360. if you have ever played a previuos halo game and were waiting for this one you wont be dissapointed. the graphics for this game are incredibly better now on the 360. the story on this game is awsome and will keep you playing all night until you beat it, and when you do, be sure to watch the credits, because the ending isnt how it seems. in the game you team up with the elites to defeat the brutes, prophets and the flood once and for all. the game also has quite a lot of new features like being able to rip turrets from thier stand, and use a gravity hammer to blow back your enemies. the creators also added a lot of vehicles like the prowler, chopper, mongoose, hornet, and all the previous vehicles. they also brought back the halo combat evolved assault rifle, and a couple new weapons like the spartain laser, and made some awsome modifications to previous weapons, and even added more grenades and the all new equiptment like the bubble shield. as far as multiplayer goes it's awsome except for the lack of levels to play on. another cool thing about halo three is the forge, where you get to choose where to place all the weapons, small boxes ect, vehicles and turrets, and grenades are placed. over all this is an awsome game

The best halo out of all 3 because of the weapons and graphics. The new sword is so much better because in halo 2, whoever had the sword won the game because of the unlimited swings in it. I hated when some NOOB would win with the sword. The graphics in this game are the best also, because when in campaign, the video is not CGI, like other video games. That is what makes this game unique. I give this game 5 stars and I hope anyone that owns a Xbox 360 has this game, or else you are missing out on a whole lot!

Halo 3 is by far one of the best games out for the Xbox 360 right now, if not the very best. Between the campaign mode with the 4 player co-op, to the very intense edge-of-your-seat multiplayer, you won't be able to put this game down. Of course, the skulls are back in this one, and are as difficult as ever to find. As a whole, Halo 3 is probably the best game out right now (until CoD4:MW) and definitely deserves this 5 out of 5.

In my opinion this is the best first person shooter ever made so far. The campaign, fun. The forge, awesome. The theater mode, useful. The multiplayer, INSANE. Some people were disappointed with the campaign mode of this game. Particularly because some felt it was too short and abandoned the point of view of the Arbiter. But, I think otherwise. I really didn't like to play as the Arbiter in Halo 2 and the campaign mode in Halo 3 can be lengthened by searching for the skulls and playing with buddies. The added vehicles are a definite plus, along with the new weapons and equipment. One of my few complaints of this game is that you can only play 4 player co-op over live or system link and not split screen, but other that that this game is perfect.
Overall, if you have a 360 buy it. If you don't have a 360 buy it anyway and get a 360.

Halo 3 has been the greatest achievment in top games and bungie with microsoft. Halo 3 i have owned it since the release day and couldnt look away. I played constantly for one day beating it on normal...well it did take me about a week to do it not playing it all the time. The i beat it on ledgendary which was alot easier to beat than on Halo 2. Also online it is awsome with being able to save films and watch them over and over killing others or doing something weird with photos. I definetly think halo 3 will be the greatest game for a long time until the next best game comes out. Also it is very fun playing campain because u can be the awsome master chief with a friend being the arbitor. The online campain u can have up to four players for maximum fun. To conclude i would recomend halo 3 to any gamer out there that hasnt already played.

The Game That Keeps on Giving!

Is it the pulse-pounding multiplayer, or the amazing single player; is it the unique forge mode, or the mind blowing theatre? Halo 3 is probably the most icredible game I have ever played! The single player is adrenaline-filled roller coaster (Sorry for that way overused metaphor, but it was necessary). The stunning conclusion to the famous trilogy has finally been revealed! When you have completed the jaw dropping campaign on legendary you can enter the deadly world of multiplayer, which has risen the bar a lot higher with new gadgets, weapons, vehicles, and maps. Unlike Halo 2 which allowed you to change your characters color, in Halo 3 you change the armor on your character. Another awesome twist that is perfect for the series is Theatre. I allows you save videos of you owning and recording clips. You can then post the video on your file share for everyone to enjoy. Once you have gotten bored of the multiplayer (doubt it). You can edit the maps with a powerful editor tool called Forge, which might be one of the coolest additions to Halo. This is game will keep on giving.

*WARNING: SPOILER*
WHAT DO YOU THINK: The trilogy is over. If you played Marathon then you know that the alternate ending of Halo 3 could foreshadow the remake of the Marathon Games. Do you think Bungie will recreate the Marathon Series?

PLEASE POST YOU ANSWER ON MY MESSAGE BOARD.

Halo 3 Skull Locations

Reviewed by mike2400000 on November 13, 2007  |  report this review

Skull locations
You can only collect Skulls on the Normal, Heroic, and Legendary difficulty setting. You must start from the beginning of the mission. You will not be able to see the Skulls if you load from a checkpoint, unless doing so after dieing. In Co-op mode, as soon as one player picks the Skull up, all players will receive the achievement if there is one. Not all Skulls earn an achievement; only nine of them do. To use Skulls, press X at the lobby screen. This will give you a bonus multiplier for Co-op mode and go towards earning the Guerrilla, Demon, etc. achievements.

Black Eye Skull: At the start of the "Crow's Nest" mission, without moving anything, you can see a huge pipe above you. Walk up the stairs, then up the next set. Turn to your left and jump up on the shelf unit. Jump to the red cross beam, then up onto the pipe. Then, just walk to the end. Walk over the Black Eye Skull to collect it. You do not have to pick this Skull up, it does it automatically. The Skull description reads "Bash your way to better health." When this Skull is active, your shield will instantly charge when you use melee attacks, and will not auto-recharge anymore.

Blind Skull: In the "Sierra 117" mission, when you get to the area where you see the Phantom overhead (one of the marines will point it out), jump over the rocks, and keep following the path on the right. When you get to the cliff, there will be a rock over the side. The Skull is on the end of the rock. The Skull description reads "Shoot from the hip." Note: This Skull has to be activated before you start a campaign map.

Catch Skull: In "The Storm" mission, go to where the first anti-air Wraith tank is located. There is a large gray cylinder in the that area on the ground on the far side from where you enter. The Skull is on the top of the silo. To get up there, perform a grenade jump off a Warthog or use a vehicle to push a large crate to the side of it; jump on the crate, then the silo. Note: Do not destroy the Wraith near the door or the Skull will disappear. The Skull description reads "Pull pin. Count to three. Throw." When this Skull is active, every NPC will carry two grenades and throws them often.

Cowbell Skull: In "The Ark" mission, pick up a Grav Lift from the small building near where you fight the Scarab. Then, proceed through the level until you reach the second sloping hallway (stairway). You should see some partitioned risers (platforms) halfway down. The Skull is on the top level. Throw the Grav Lift on the right side of the hall so it lands on the fourth little green dot from the door. Then, run, jump, and use the Grav Lift to propel you to the top. You should reach a checkpoint just as you enter the room, so if you miss you can try again. When this Skull is active, explosive force is increased.

Famine Skull: In "The Ark" mission, when you first go into the valley to the right after the wrecked Phantom, look to your left to see a huge boulder. Use a Ghost to get

You need to view both entries in all Terminals for it to count towards the "Marathon Man" achievement. -From: Jared

The Ark

1. Start the mission, then once you enter the first building, go left into another door. You should now be in a curved corridor. On the inside is a Terminal.

2. After activating the bridge to let your comrades across the gap, turn 180 degrees, and you should see a Terminal (it does not open until you activate the bridge).

3. In the third building after defeating the Scarab, kill the group of sleeping Covenant, then follow the corridor downwards. Once you reach a door in front that is locked, immediately on the left there is an open door. Go through and walk straight off, then turn 180 degrees to find a secret room with a Terminal.

The Covenant

4. When in the first tower standing on the lift, face the access panel and turn left. Jump over to find a Terminal.

5. Land your Hornet on the second tower, walk towards the entrance, but when you see the locked door, turn 180 degrees. A Terminal should be right in front of you.

6. When in the third tower standing on the lift, face the access panel and turn right. Jump over to find a Terminal.

The original Halo has been called the game that sustained the original Xbox. Due to the fame and popularity of the Halo franchise and the unexaggerated idea that Microsoft's foray into gaming may have failed without Halo: Combat Evolved, the Halo series has become something like the money-making child star for Microsoft. The problem with most child stars, however, is that they cannot continue their success when their cuteness wears off. This analogy translates over to video games, where few games can continue to generate and sustain a following throughout various iterations. Halo 3, however, bucks this trend by giving gamers nearly everything that they could hope for in the finale of the Halo 3 trilogy.

The controls are probably an area of concern for the purists of the franchise. The control setup, which has been fairly unchanged since the beginning, has seen some of its biggest alterations to date. Actions have been moved to the bumper buttons, so you now press right bumper to open doors and activate switches as well as reloading the right hand weapon. Left bumper switches the grenade type that you have equipped or reloads the weapon in your left hand. This setup allows you to reload your dual wielded weapons independently of each other and also frees up the X button to deploy the new equipment. While the setup takes some getting used to for those who've religiously played the first two, it feels eventually begins to feel like a natural evolution of the series. Inevitably, there are going to be some that don't like the new control scheme and are either unable or unwilling to relearn their controls, but those willing to take to time to readjust won't regret it.

Halo 3 picks up where Halo 2 left off, following Master Chief and his team as they attempt to defeat the Prophet of Truth and his Covenant followers. This time around, the Arbiter, the surprise co-protagonist from Halo 2, is also along for the ride, although his role is completely secondary. Master Chief and friends must battle their foes to recover Cortana, who was captured in Halo 2, and protect that galaxy from the threats that arise to endanger life everywhere. Without getting too in depth and revealing anything, fans of the first two titles will know what to expect. There aren't too many surprises where the story is concerned, although the trilogy is given the decent sense of closure sorely missing from Halo 2. However, anyone jumping aboard Halo for the first time will be completely lost by the story's close, so if the narrative is an important part of the game for you, consider getting backstory before starting.

The sounds in the Halo series have also always been among the best, with an orchestral score instantly recognizable to most gamers. Halo 3 also doesn't disappoint in this respect. Each of the voice actors in the game does an excellent job in reprising their various roles and the playful banter between the marines is as realistic as ever. The soundtrack is still incredibly done and rises and falls appropriately, giving the game a cinematic feel as the correct times. The gameplay also doesn't disappoint, giving the player an epic experience from start to finish. Most of the game you'll have a team with you, but the bulk of the fragging is done by Master Chief. There are times that you'll feel as if you're really in the middle of a battle with your team rallying behind you as you charge the Covenant teams with the scale of and types of battles shift throughout the game as well, keeping the experience fresh. Beyond the single player campaign, Halo 3 also offers co-op for up to four players. Since receiving my early copy of "Halo 3," I've indulged my senses and blistered my fingers in nonstop game playing. I've completed the single-player campaign and experimented with the game's voluminous multiplayer features.

It turns out there are two very different sides to "Halo 3." I suspect only one aspect will keep gamers going for more than a few days.

It's been three years since the infuriatingly obscure end of "Halo 2" left us all wondering what happened.
nship with Master Chief?

"Halo 3" answers all these questions and more in a narrative that sometimes stumbles but at least provides a sense of closure.

Without any prologue, "Halo 3" picks up with Master Chief crash-landing on Earth in the year 2552. The gunplay-driven action is relentless from there as you blast droves of aliens back from the front lines of our future home world.

Master Chief's motivation is nothing less than survival of the galaxy.

Earth's population has been decimated by the Covenant, a diverse collection of religious aliens who believe the key to activating a network of "halos" — massive ring worlds floating in space — is buried somewhere under the sands of Northern Africa.

These halos, crafted by a mysterious ancient race known as the Forerunners, are seen by the Covenant as a path to salvation.

There's one catch: Turning on the halos would destroy all sentient life in the galaxy.

This doomsday premise drives the action forward through levels that occasionally falter with unclear goals or too much repetitious backtracking.

The game slowly builds in intensity but suffers from some uneven difficulty. A showdown in a Flood-infested spacecraft was by far the most difficult section for me to complete. However, I was far from finished and the real final battle felt like a letdown by comparison.

Like its predecessors, "Halo 3" liberally uses cinematic interludes between the action to advance the story. And again, it sometimes cheapens the gaming experience.

The result isn't going to change how we play or perceive video games. But it's an overall package that's definitely worthwhile for any fan of action games

Halo 3 is the conclusion of the Halo trilogy. While most people will tell you Halo 3 is about the multi-player, I tell you that the single player is just as amazing. The story is truly epic. The graphics and sound are quite astounding. The controlls as usual are top noch.

The multi-player blew me away. It's easily the best multi-player game on the 360. (or, on any system for the time being) The game includes the normal shooter deathmatches, objectives, etc, while introducing a 4-player co-op via Xbox Live. Bungie has also included a video feature where it automatically saves your last 25 games for you to go back, watch, fast forward, etc. You can take pictures or video clips and upload them to the net this way, or send them to other gamers. There's also a great map editor called the forge.

Best Online Multiplayer Game Period

Reviewed by Keep-It-Moving on January 14, 2008  |  report this review

First and foremost let me mention that I have never played a previous entry in the Halo series. So now let me say that this Game is off the Chain. Halo 3, simply put, has the best online multiplayer around. Period. Nuff said. You will be busy and occupied for hours upon hours. There are a bunch of Social Playlist to choose from. Then if that wasnt good enough you have Ranked Playlist as well. You will get to level up your skill level in ranked. Your character will also get different armors which can be unlocked and you will also be able to gain EXP to become Higher ranks, Gunery Sergent, Commander, General, etc. Now after you take on the online slayer matches you can try the objective based games like capture the flag. You can also play the Campaign with online multiplayer. Which akes it easier to beat it on Legendary mode. You can even forge the multiplayer maps to make them to your liking, then play them and share them online. The bottom line is. this game is amazingly fun and it will just keep on giving and giving,

What an amazing game. i beat this game and it is one of the beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeest sooter games out. The grafics are good and the storyline is also very good. Some parts of this game can get a little too easy and it will only take you a weekend to beat but it is still an insane game and is definately worth any amount.

After playing FPSs since Wolfenstein, Halo 3 was my first in the series and one of the first console FPSs that I've given a serious try. Regardless of how hard I try, I simply can't get much enjoyment out of Halo 3. The core game is extremely derivative of the genre. The few things that Halo added to the genre are still there and perfect, such as vehicle driving, the whole game just feels like a "good," but by no means "great" FPS. The SP story is engaging, but it's no Half-Life 2. The vehicles are great, but it's no Battlefield. The multiplayer is feature-rich and well thought-out, but it's not even half as fun as Gears of War.

Overall, with so much hype around Halo 3, it's a huge let down for me. Some of the non-game features are spectacular, such as the theater, social features, and enormous array of options for every multiplayer gametype. But the actual core gameplay just isn't much fun!

First, Halo 3 is an awesome game. It has great detail and intense moments. The campaign is just thrilling and extremly action-packed. The thing that makes this game unique from the other Halo games is the online. You could play Legendary with your 4 of your best friends in your house or even online. This game even gives you the ability to create your own maps and varients with other people online and play them through the internet. The game automaticaly recoreds all your games, so if you want to show your friends the plasma stick you threw from a mile away, you can. Matchmaking is light-speed and the playlists never get you bored.
Ever get tired of the same old elite and spartan. In this game, you can customize your helmet and armour, and show off your achivements and skulls.
The only thing I regret about this game is one problem. It's useful in someways and hurtful in other. Penaltys for leaving matches. Although it keeps teams together and fighting through the end, when you get connection problems or emergencys that you must leave, you lose expeirance.
Other than that, the game is a must-have for Halo fans. This game deserves every star it gets. It's definently worth every buck paid for.

THIS GAME ROCKS!

What more can I say? I tell you "what more"! From the very beginning of my journey through normal play I was amazed. Not at the graphics or the story line or the difficulty, etc... but amazed at my attraction to the game overall. I received the game at 8AM on Saturday before launch as a prize from Pontiac's "First To Own" Promotion. By 8:30 I had it up and running and could not stop, no matter how hard I tried, simply could not stop playing!!! My bladder was completely full of coffee which I had been drinking nonstop in an attempt to wake up. But to the bathroom I did NOT go. Once I got into the game, learned the new button assignments, and familiarized myself with the map's surroundings, gameplay was smooth as ice. I even took time to walk around and admire the improvements over Halo 2 such as the incredibly smooth edging on shapes and game items, to the detail highly evident on the enemy characters such as the brutes and others. As I progressed through the game, I felt myself getting super excited about the possibility of finishing the game. I couldn't wait to get to the end. I felt like I'd burst if I didn't get the chance to see what happened.

Some might ask why I didn't jump online for some live action...you must understand that this was not an option as I'd received the game before official launch. The MS servers were offline, I checked!!!

As I continued pounding out level after level I found myself completely satisfied after the completion of each major task. The vehicles in this game are numerous and at times, I couldn't fight the urge to just drive around testing the capabilities of each mode of transport. Finally being able to fly an aircraft is a real treat I tell ya'. Very much so.

In summary, this is by far the best title in the Halo Series arsenal. Halo-lovers of old will be truly impressed with the visual attractiveness, SP & MP gameplay, and everything else it has to offer. New Halo gamers will be blown away by the sheer size of the game itself. Huge sprawling maps and improved AI make getting the job done quite a task. But everyone loves a challenge right?

Get this one if you haven't already! Three Thumbs Up!

this game is one of the best games for the 360. if you have ever played a previuos halo game and were waiting for this one you wont be dissapointed. the graphics for this game are incredibly better now on the 360. the story on this game is awsome and will keep you playing all night until you beat it, and when you do, be sure to watch the credits, because the ending isnt how it seems. in the game you team up with the elites to defeat the brutes, prophets and the flood once and for all. the game also has quite a lot of new features like being able to rip turrets from thier stand, and use a gravity hammer to blow back your enemies. the creators also added a lot of vehicles like the prowler, chopper, mongoose, hornet, and all the previous vehicles. they also brought back the halo combat evolved assault rifle, and a couple new weapons like the spartain laser, and made some awsome modifications to previous weapons, and even added more grenades and the all new equiptment like the bubble shield. as far as multiplayer goes it's awsome except for the lack of levels to play on. another cool thing about halo three is the forge, where you get to choose where to place all the weapons, small boxes ect, vehicles and turrets, and grenades are placed. over all this is an awsome game
